Coming from so far behind, Bernie had to shake his head a few times to absorb the new poll results in Iowa that put him neck and neck with Hillary in that key state. He notes the scandal over the emails and the fact that people are unhappy with establishment politics as a couple of reasons for his rise. He’s a serious issues man, who believes he now resonates with the American people.
1. Bernie Pleasantly Surprised
2. Resonating with Americans Now
Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont admitted Thursday that he is “stunned” by his rise in some of the recent polling on the 2016 Democratic presidential nominating contest, saying that while he thought his message would resonate with Americans, he didn’t think it would happen so quickly.
“You want me to tell you the truth … yes, I’m stunned,” Mr. Sanders told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “Look, we have a message that I believe[d] from day one was going to resonate with the American people.”
Asked if he could really see himself being president of the United States, Mr. Sanders said: “Increasingly, yes.” via Washington Times
